8500 EMS (Element Management System)
The Xtera 8500 EMS is a feature-rich, client-server based solution which manages entire networks of Xtera 6400 and 5400 Optical Transport Platforms.
The Xtera 8500 EMS manages entire networks of Xtera 6400 and 5400 OTPs (Optical Transport Platforms). This allows an operator to monitor, configure, provision and analyze network and system resources for up to 500 nodes in real-time from anywhere in the world. By taking advantage of the unified GMPLS control plane and embedded optical supervisory channel resident in every 6400/5400 OTP network element, the full optical network can be accessed via a single node or multiple sites, should enhanced diversity be desired. With intuitive graphical displays and inherent auto-discovery capabilities, the 8500 EMS allows the operator to quickly visualize both the overall and the detailed status of the network, and to quickly and easily navigate to exactly where attention is needed. The 8500 EMS is a proven and feature-rich Java-enabled, client-server based solution which addresses all the critical needs of 6400/5400 OTP network operators; including:
