Upgrade planning is a service for new and existing customers. This typically involves the specific development of a method of procedure to upgrade the network, including software and/or hardware covering a complete network or specific location. This service would typically be offered post-sales, once the network has been operating for a period of time but requires upgrade to add new features or resolve existing issues.
Xtera services network planning
Network planning involves assisting customers to develop architectural network solutions prior to any network deployment. This may include decisions based on service type, protection schemes, current versus future upgrade potential, and many other performance parameters that require optimization. It also includes WDM choices (DWDM vs CWDM) based on distances requirements, and assisting customers with the architectural development of their network before it is deployed. This also is available for customers who already have a network deployed, but are looking to add new nodes and services. Customers who are unfamiliar with WDM networks can have total confidence that Xtera will provide the optimum solution for their network requirements.
