Xtera Sparing Services
Xtera enables customers to obtain a field replaceable unit in advance of the failed unit being returned to Xtera.
Xtera sparing service enables customers to obtain a field replaceable unit in advance of the failed unit being returned to Xtera. This service is available on a contract basis through the Sparing option of service offerings. This service is provided over and above the standard terms and conditions associated with the warranty of the products.
Sparing Procedures
The sparing service provides a replacement part within 24 hours of notification of the replacement requirement to the Xtera TAC. The customer is then responsible to return the failed unit to Xtera.
If the failed unit has not been received by Xtera within 14 calendar days from the date of dispatch of the advance replacement unit, then the customer will immediately be obligated to pay Xtera the full list price of the advanced unit.
This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Advance Replacement
Advance Replacement Service enables customers to obtain a field replaceable unit in advance of the failed unit being returned to Xtera. This service is available from Xtera on an as-needed basis, over and above the standard terms and conditions associated with the warranty of the products. This per incident service is offered at the discretion of Xtera, depending on unit availability at the time of the request.
If the failed unit has not been received by Xtera within 14 calendar days from the date of dispatch of the advance replacement unit, then the customer will immediately become obligated to pay Xtera the full list price of the advanced unit.
Customers who require a one-time advance should contact the TAC. One-Time Advance Replacement parts are subject to availability. This service is available Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Charges
Unless included as part of a service contract, a charge is incurred for the Advance Replacement Service.
