March 13th, 2018 – Xtera®, a provider of innovative subsea fibre optic solutions, today announces a partnership with ADVA (ADV.DE), a leading supplier of open networking solutions for the delivery of cloud and mobile services, to develop the capacity and reach of ADVA’s optical transport products. ADVA will license Xtera’s industry-leading Raman technology for use in both unrepeatered and terrestrial environments.
Xtera has been developing its proprietary Raman amplification since 1998 and has successfully deployed its technology in both on-land and underwater applications, recently launching an undersea amplifier which offers the highest bandwidth in the industry at up to 40 Terabits on a single fibre pair.
